THE ROLE
- Under the direction of the Manager, Payroll & Benefits, lead the orientation process for seasonal hires by providing hiring packages, responding to related inquiries, collecting all required documentation and verifying that documents are signed and filled out correctly prior to the commencement of employment
- Assist the Camp and Academic director with recruitment and selection activities
- Assist in planning and executing seasonal staff social events
- Respond to candidate inquiries and questions in a timely and courteous manner
- Complete reference checks and confirmation of credentials for successful candidates
- Prepare and send offers of employment to successful candidates
- Ensure employee/contractor files and records are maintained in accordance with legal requirements and Appleby’s policies and procedures
- Guide new hires through the school’s policies and online training, ensure comprehension and track completion
- Collect and audit staff attendance information across all programs to ensure accurate information is submitted to payroll
- Audit bi-weekly payrolls across various program departments, responding to employee questions and concerns as received.
- Ensure all information changes throughout summer are properly documented and communicated across department
- Assist with the transition of onboarding a new HRIS
- Administrate documentation related to Canada Summer Jobs grant recipients
WHAT YOU BRING
- Post-Secondary Education in a relevant field
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Previous experience in HR in considered an asset
- Relevant work experience in summer programs/camps, recreation or educational environments is an asset, as is Appleby Programs product knowledge
- Experience with When2Work, CampBrain software is an asset
- Experience with Human Resources Information Systems is an asset, specifically UKG
