Content Creation Team Member-STUDENT

Shift Auto Group, Eastern Canada’s fastest growing automotive retailer, has two student openings on their Content Creation Team.Basically, we need help telling our stories through great content like graphics, videos, blogs and other social content.

Shift Auto Group is headquartered in Fredericton, New Brunswick and consists of New Car Dealerships (Volvo Cars New Brunswick, Fredericton Mitsubishi) as well as three St. Croix Auto used car dealerships (Fredericton, St. Stephen, St. George, New Brunswick).

Working with all of our locations with a focus on our exploding ReCar brand of Fixed Price Pre-Owned vehicle dealerships. Started just over three years ago in 2018, ReCar currently has 6 locations (Fredericton, Saint John, Moncton and Woodstock in New Brunswick as well as Stratford (Charlottetown), PEI and St. John’s in Newfoundland), with multiple more locations opening in 2022.

In this exciting role you will be working within our Communications Team. You will be responsible for working with our Marketing Team and our Social Connections Team to create content that tells stories and connects with people. This includes:

• Being super creative in telling the story of our brands and what matters to us. You will need to help translate the vision into visual content.

• Creating graphic content for digital advertising, social media posts, traditional print and direct mail media and point of sale materials.

• Creating lots of video content for our social channels, YouTube Pre-Roll marketing, websites and all other marketing activities. We believe video is our best form of storytelling so you will need to love videos!

• Creating blogs and other written posts and materials.

• Writing press releases and executing their release to media as part of our overarching communication strategy.

Requirements:

• Did we mention that you must be passionate for creating amazing content and telling stories?!?!

• A track record or history in engaging content creation.

• Must be in tune with popular trends in culture and how it would relate to our storytelling ability.

• A general understanding of what social content looks like on all major platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, TikTok, Pinterest and Twitter.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.

• Strong writing skills and experience writing social content and blogs.

• Impeccable attention to detail and grammar.

• Strong organization skills.

• Advanced understanding of and/or proficient in: Adobe Creative Suite and a diverse range of video and image processing software, plug-ins, techniques and approaches.

• You need to be a good human who values teamwork, collaboration and being part of a team that is not just assembled but are aligned.

To be eligible you must be one of the following:

• Canadian citizen;

• Permanent resident; or

• A protected as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; AND

• Must be registered as a full-time or a part-time student in a publicly funded Canadian post-secondary institution

Added Bonus:

• Bilingual in English and French would be a huge asset!

What else should I know about this opportunity?

• We have grown from 10 people in 2015 to over 140 team members, and we are just getting started, so there is lots of room to grow within the company. Although this is a student placement position, several of our current full-time team members started with us as students, including some UNB grads!

• This is a part-time position with approx. 20 hours per week, with the potential of it becoming full-time in the future.

• We are a little unreasonable … meaning that we want to accomplish unreasonable things so if you are OK being “average” this likely isn’t something you should apply for.
