The opportunity

Our Compensation and Recognition team designs and supports the delivery of compensation and recognition programs in support of the continuously evolving workforce at KPMG, positioning the firm as a place that the workforce of the future wants to be. As a Compensation and Recognition Manager, you will be integral in the oversight and guidance of the data & analytical work done in support of our annual total cash review, including competitive market data analysis, survey participation and overall reporting and trend identification.

What You Will Do

The primary function of the role is management of the firm’s competitive analysis of compensation and recognition programs and delivery of the firm wide merit and variable pay planning processes including
  • Oversee compensation survey participation, including managing vendor relationships
  • Oversee analysis of market position relative to the competition, including developing templates and frameworks for analysis, and development of presentations for firm leadership.
  • Working with the Senior Compensation Consultants to manage the annual variable pay budgeting and forecasting process. This requires working closely with Finance resources and requires a solid understanding of the firm wide budgeting process.
  • Play a leadership role in a cross-specialty project group to deliver the annual pay planning process firm wide, including project management of implementation plans; providing direction to team involved in delivering the pay planning process; identifying pay planning technology requirements and updates; execution of training and communication plans.
  • Work with HR Business Partners to develop and deliver tools (e.g. models) that can be utilized by their Geographic Leadership Teams in planning and executing the pay planning process
  • In Partnership with the Senior Total Rewards Consultants and HR Business Partners, support pay planners in delivering on their accountabilities relative to pay decisions and communication. Educate, provide decision tools and communication scripts that enables effective decision-making and supports pay conversations.
  • Oversees the work and coaches Specialists within the Compensation & Recognition team, working with the Compensation & Recognition leadership team to prioritize activities.
What You Bring To The Role
  • A university degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human Resources; experience in Compensation and/or Total Rewards an asset.
  • HR degree, CHRP and/or CCP designation are assets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; French communication skills are an asset.
  • Ability to analyze and translate large amounts of data into easy to understand summaries and communicate results in a succinct and compelling manner.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel. Experience with Power BI is an asset.
  • Experience and knowledge of pay, reward and recognition principles and programs. Experience with sales incentive plans is an asset.
  • Able to build relationships with internal clients and gain credibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully complete work assignments and present effective business solutions to clients.
  • A self-starter who thrives in constantly changing and sometimes ambiguous environments.
This is a remote/hybrid position.
