Job Title: CNC WATERJET OPERATOR

Reports To:Production Manager

Department:Operations

Company Profile:

A 70 year old company specializes in the Fabrication & Manufacturing of structural metal for numerous industries requires an experiencedCNC WATERJET OPERATOR, for a Permanent Long Term opportunity, based in Mississauga, Ontario. This company is experiencing a prolonged growth spurt and is needing to add professional minded people to our experienced and dedicated team.

The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed, and plan best sequence of operations
• Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces
• Read and follow work instructions and procedures.
• Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of machine tools, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planing, drilling, reeming precision grinding and other operations
• Prepares machine for productions by positioning and securing dies, stops, guides and turntables.
• Fit and assemble machined / trimmed metal parts and subassemblies using hand tools
• Regulated machining by setting and adjusting controls.
• Maintains specification by observing operations; detecting malfunction; inspecting parts; adjusting controls; replacing dyes.
• Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains stock inventory of supplies for the equipment used.
• Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit, fastening parts and sub-assemblies per work instructions using screwdrivers and other fastening equipment.
• Make / modify tooling and fixtures for bending, trimming, drilling and other processes as necessary
• Maintain required records.
• Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments

• Additional Responsibilities:
• Experience making jogs, fixtures, tools valuable.
• Willing to work with experienced machinists and welder fitters
• Experience in working with various exotics and standard metals
• Know and follow company safety procedures
• Know and follow QSR procedures
• Perform other duties as required

• Skill Sets:
• Minimum of 5 years of Experience in Manufacturing and tool room environment.
• Able to lift 15 to 20 lbs. At least 20% to 50% of the time.
• Able to read and comprehend work instructions.
• Work requires considerable periods of standing.
• Work requires considerable bending and squatting.
• Able to see fine scratches and imperfections.

Supply of own tools and tool kit.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
