The Community Corrections and Corporate Programs Division of the Corrections Branch is responsible for the delivery of programs and services to adult offenders or alleged offenders awaiting trial or sentencing, who are serving community based sentences of the court. The intent of these programs and services is to enhance public safety by assessing and managing the risk of the offenders and providing intervention to change behaviour. The Community Corrections Division works closely with the court system and the Adult Custody Division of the Corrections Branch, and responds to court and custody requests for pres-sentence and other reports. Community Corrections Offices are the primary location for client supervision and liaison with community and justice partners as well as the general public.

Under the direct supervision of the Office Manager, Administrative Assistant provided confidential office support services, frontline reception services, data entry for electronic systems and maintains files and records and provided financial support services.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Secondary school graduation
    • Applicants with transcripts from foreign countries must contact International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES) which will evaluate the credentials and determine comparable levels in BC or Canadian terms. Documentation must be provided to the closing location by the closing date.
  • One year of related experience, or a combination of related experience, education and/or training (e.g. clerical, secretarial, receptionist or administrative support) may be considered.
  • Minimum of 30 WPM typing speed
