Job Description

What you can expect in a typical day

This role will assist and support in the processing of claims that are received by the company in dealing with property, marine, general liability, auto, products liability, environmental, aviation products liability, employee crime and boiler & machinery coverage. This position supports the equitable resolution to claim issues supporting cost control, customer retention and brand image.

Your Roles And Responsibilities
  • Review of Cintellate incident reports for claims or potential claims. Set up claim files with information from incident report, ADDs and other available sources. Set initial reserves.
  • Work closely with Sr. Claims Examiner on the initial investigation into claim to determine preliminary extent of liability and exposure. Review all available information and contact with involved business unit managers, employees, etc.
  • Assist in determining if other resources are required i.e. insurance adjusters, appraisers, environmental engineers, external contractors, external legal, etc. Assign external vendor and support their involvement to ensure the required results are achieved.
  • Responsible for the managing claims by determining what is required to find a final resolution that satisfies the customer (brand) and business unit expectations. Monitor for any reserve changes (increases/decreases) to insure accuracy of financial information over the duration of the claim.
  • Assist with negotiating settlements based on outcome of investigation and liability determination and advise claimants of denials when appropriate. Arrange for prompt payments (Inspyrus/ADDs).
  • Support the pursuit for the recovery of damages to Company assets caused by responsible third parties.
  • Work collaboratively with team with any monthly reporting for accounting purposes, claim summaries and in support of the annual renewal process
  • Develop ongoing long-term relationships with external vendors that support our claim process.
  • Support the requirements of the Riskonnect Claim System including changes and updates.
  • Facilitate the payment process for claims and any related invoicing.
  • Provide Certificate of Insurance requests to Insurance Broker, upon receipt validate for accuracy and provide to stakeholder

Travel
  • Travel is not a requirement for this position.
Education And Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Post-secondary education/equivalent with practical experience.
  • Actively pursue the Insurance Institute designation (Chartered Insurance Professional), and attendance at ongoing Insurance Institute and/or insurance industry seminars.
  • General understanding of insurance standards and legal issues.
