The Buyer coordinates purchasing activities to acquire inventory in a cost effective and timely manner. Acquires and maintains technical understanding of products purchased. Issues purchase orders for material and/or services. Aligns with AP to resolve supplier invoice and payment issues. In general, the Buyer 2 coordinates with Warehouse personnel to correct receiving discrepancies. Monitors the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to assure highest quality at best value and is responsible for assigned commodities and suppliers.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assists maintaining Open Purchase Backlog with correct dates
  • Directly support production planning
  • May perform some lifting and placing of inventory
  • Understands and executes end-to-end procurement process efficiently, including evaluating purchasing requisitions, attaining quotes, considering bids, making awards, and facilitate payment issues
  • Maintains master data integrity in ERP system
  • Initiates cost reductions and cost targets of assigned materials
  • Administrates procurement related projects as assigned
  • Initiates and facilitates process improvements initiatives as assigned
  • Follows established, standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained
  • Builds stable working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Understands, supports, and executes all work according to the established procedures of the organization
  • Creates and maintains existing work instructions as assigned
  • Project based assignments as requested
  • Other Duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Procurement, or 2 years of related experience in Procurement or Customer Relations with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, emphasis on Supply Chain Management or MIS preferred
  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system preferred
  • Previous Experience with Mechanical parts/Mechanical Drawings preferred
  • Valid drivers licencse

  • Able to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent Negotiation Skills
  • Excellent customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building
  • Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ERP, and electronic e-mail systems
  • Self-start who is willing to learn and grown in procurement profession area
  • Strong written communication and verbal skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Positive attitude, self-motivated and eager to succeed
  • Proven ability to multi-task, set project priorities, goals and objectives for self
  • Ability to effectively & professionally communicate with co-workers, customers and vendors.
