Job Overview:


The Business Analyst (BA) consults with stakeholders to determine how people, data, processes, communications and information technology can best accomplish improvements for the business. The BA will act as a facilitator and liaison, bridging the gap between business and technical resources. In addition, they will be responsible for developing documentation and providing a quality review of documentation prepared by other team members and within the Organizational Management System (OMS). The position may also be assigned ad hoc project and/or reporting responsibilities.


Responsibilities:


  • Interprets and translates stakeholder’s needs, advises and documents possible solutions. Assist in the preparation and reporting on high-level implementation and improvement plans.
  • Conduct reviews of business processes, including Energy Safety Canada’s Project Management System (EPMS) and OMS to provide recommendations on improvement opportunities and assists with implementation.
  • Assists in the evaluation of business enhancement requests, including the identification of process strengths and weaknesses; researches and recommends course of action with focus on overall productivity and efficiency.
  • Assists in the preparation of various documents such as business process mapping, business models, higher lever user documents, test scripts, statement of works and other various OMS documents.
  • Manage with support projects using the EPMS, including project documentation, scheduling, budgeting and other reporting requirements for the Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships to assist with the successful execution of projects and implementation of improvement plans.
  • Other duties as required


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Post secondary education
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel and SharePoint
  • 5-10 years of experience within general consulting or business analyst functions
  • Extensive experience designing and documenting workflows, process and data mapping
  • Related experience in technical writing and training
  • 3+ years’ experience working with customer service, Contact Centre and /or registration services environment is considered an asset
  • Supervisory experience is considered an asset
