Branch Accountant

• Aston Carter’s insurance client is seeking their next branch accountant to join the team. This role is remote but preference to someone in Edmonton, Alberta so they can travel to different branches. This role is open due to the incumbent moving into another project.
• This will be a 1-year contract with the potential to extend or go permanent based on performance and business needs
• Complete full cycle accounting for Alberta branches or any offices in Canada (approximately 1-4 offices depending on how fast this person picks it up)
• Month-end reporting, generating income statements, trial balances, and providing financial reports to the HQ
• Other duties include: bank postings, bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivables, processing and allocate receipts to customer accounts, cutting cheques for clients
• Working with the branch and its staff
• Providing any ad-hoc reporting for sales and commission, cash management, treasury, forecast cash in bank accounts, etc.
• Skills & Qualifications:*
• Accounting education
• 2-5 years of accounting or bookkeeping: must work with account reconciliations, running reports, and month-end
• Excel (normal excel to be sent): working knowledge of pivot tables and v-lookups, running reports
• Strong communication as you will be working with various branches
• OK With remote training SOFTSKILLS
• Comfortable with change adaptable
