Assistant Controller

Corey Craig Group is a privately owned and leading customer service organization operating numerous fast food and casual dining restaurants, gas and convenience stores, and hotels among other professional businesses. Proud of our standing in the community, encouraged by our business growth, and particularly appreciative of our dedicated Team Members, we are seeking an Assistant Controller to join our operations.

We offer a dynamic, fast-paced, work environment based out of Moncton, New Brunswick. We are seeking qualified candidates to assume a wide range of financial responsibilities for our multi-location operation. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Financial statement preparation and management reporting
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger including regular reconciliation of accounts
• Preparation of journal entries and other general accounting duties
• Monthly preparation of HST returns
• Complete daily cash analysis reports and monthly inventory reports
• Year-end file preparation including government reporting
• Preparation of annual budgets
• Assist with supervision/mentorship of accounting and office staff
• All other duties as assigned

As the ideal candidate for the position, you have completed an accounting designation (CPA) and have four to six years’ total experience. Public practice experience is considered an asset. Candidates without a designation with strong, relevant experience will be considered. You have knowledge and ability in the use of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel). Experience using Sage Accpac is considered an asset. With good communication and interpersonal skills, you have the ability to mentor/coach and contribute to a dynamic work environment. Superior organizational and time management skills, and a strong work ethic are critical to this position.
