Brighton Veterinary Clinic provides quality medical and surgical services for dogs and cats in Saskatoon, SK and surrounding areas. We aim to create a friendly, inclusive work environment where every team member can shine, while striving for excellence in pet care and client communication.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable summer student with an interest in Veterinary Medicine. This position is aimed at youth who are interested in pursuing a career as a veterinarian or veterinary technician, but is open to anyone looking for work experience in the field.

Duties will include:

- Assisting with companion animal handling, care and treatment;

- Assisting with preparation for procedures including vaccination, administration of medications, surgery and radiology;

- Preparing food for patients, feeding and walking animals;

- Cleaning and disinfecting equipment, examination rooms, surgery suite, kennels and runs, in accordance with our facility’s standard operating procedures;

- Following proper biosecurity protocols, in accordance with our facility’s standard operating procedures.

- Relaying information in person, over the phone, or in written form, to clients and veterinary staff.

As the successful candidate, you will have:

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment and under pressure;
• A positive attitude and a friendly disposition;
• Superior work ethic;
• Attention to detail;
• Ability to multitask effectively;
• Proficiency in using computer software;
• Willingness to perform duties efficiently and with diligence, both individually and as part of a team.

Full-time or part-time hours on a temporary summer basis are available. Schedule may include weekdays between the hours of 8 am to 6 pm and Saturdays between 9 am - 3 pm.
