About Radio Western:

Radio Western is a radio station located on the campus of Western University in London, Ontario. Our programming is almost entirely created by volunteers—both students and members of the London community—and features a wide variety of music and talk shows. We are committed to providing a platform for members of the London community while also teaching valuable, hands-on experience for students in the fields of audio production, marketing, and radio broadcasting.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

As the Advertising & Promotions Coordinator, the participant will identify and contact local businesses who are interested in receiving promotional opportunities with Radio Western. This position will play a pivotal role in supporting local small businesses that lack promotional support. The participant will also be tasked with building and maintaining relationships with small businesses around the city to foster strong long-term partnerships. In doing so, the participant will consult with these business owners to understand their advertising objectives and develop effective marketing strategies to provide them with tailored results that align with their marketing goals.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Identify potential local businesses that lack promotional support.
• Understand clients’ advertising objectives and provide solutions that align with their goals.
• Deliver compelling proposals to potential clients that highlight the unique advantages of radio advertising, emphasizing reach, engagement, and effectiveness.
• Work with the Marketing Director to prepare comprehensive proposals outlining Radio Western’s advertising options, rates, and packages for clients.
• Collaborate with the Marketing Director and clients to develop effective advertising strategies, including selecting appropriate time slots to ensure the campaign reaches its target demographic.
• Collaborate with the Multimedia Audio Producer to ensure advertising materials align with the client’s branding.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, address concerns, and provide ongoing updates as the advertising campaigns progress. This includes addressing client inquiries, resolving any issues that may arise, and ensuring client satisfaction.
• Aid in the writing and voicing of advertisements for local businesses and events, where necessary.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 weeks

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
