JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for overseeing the planning of the day-to-day operations and supervise employees within the distribution center.

Position Type: Permanent Full Time

Location:Guelph DC

Reports to: Operations Manager

Shift: Monday to Friday 4:00pm to 12:00am

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan day-to-day operations ensuring the timely distribution of product and safe operation of warehouse machinery

  • Accountable for daily operations

  • Establish employee relationships through ongoing coaching, mentoring, motivating and training

  • Review associate performance/attendance to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures and provide feedback and suggestions for improvement and issue progressive discipline when applicable

  • Oversees storage of product as well as shipping and receiving of goods

  • Develop and execute processes to maintain and achieve a high level of labour efficiency

  • Maintain a safe work environment ensuring that all associates are in compliance with the company’s health and safety policies and procedures and Occupational Health and Safety Act

  • Completes work with accuracy and proficiency within expected timelines

  • May interact with clients on the company’s behalf with regards to shipping and receiving

  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, promoting, and terminating process as needed

  • Set acceptable standards of workplace housekeeping and make contributions to raise standards

  • Completes other duties as assigned


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong skills supervising and directing employees

  • General knowledge on warehouse machinery and acquired material handling equipment licenses (Walkie, Reach, etc.)

  • A team player with a constructive approach to challenges

  • Ability to work overtime as required.

  • Proficient with Warehouse Management Systems; SAP

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast pace work environment

  • Bilingual: English and French an asset
