Planner / Project UX Designer

Are you interested in designing tools that allow millions of people to feel in control of their work and tasks? Want to help people organize their tasks, collaborate, and get work done together? Do you put human needs and motivations at the center of your design thinking? If so, the Office Apps and Growth Design team is looking for a designer and thinker who can create simple and beautiful experiences for the next generation of getting work done.

You will be at the forefront of design activities by defining how people interact, create, and consume content for Office productivity in this new world. In this role you’ll engage in cross-team collaboration with the best of user research, visual and interaction design, program management and engineering from conceptual design through implementation and release. This is an opportunity to shift how people interact with content and technology.

Responsibilities

For this role, the responsibilities include:
  • Delivering inspiring conceptual work
  • Identifying Jobs to Be Done, tasks, and user’s scenarios.
  • Producing information architecture and task-flow diagrams.
  • Building storyboards, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
  • Creating design specifications.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • A BA/BS in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or field-related degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a designer in the technology industry.
  • An online portfolio that communicates a range of successful user-centered designs.
  • Be an end-user advocate, driving user needs and goals into both creative and pragmatic design solutions.
  • Strong working knowledge of information architecture, task-flow models, storyboarding, wire framing, creating design specifications and guidelines.
  • Exceptional problem solving, creativity, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other disciplines such as Program management and Engineering.
  • Experience executing interaction prototypes and code using a range of prototyping and development methods (Figma, Sketch).
  • Self-motivated, directed, and independent.
  • Have a passion for quality, innovation, and world-class design.
  • The ability to work through ambiguity and multiple priorities.
A portfolio demonstrates breadth and creativity and proven experience in telling stories, building UI models, generating detailed wire frames or prototypes, and delivering comprehensive specifications.
