Job Summary*

Kiva is looking for a Trade Marketing Manager to join Kiva’s award-winning and industry- leading marketing team. This role specializes in working with retailers and/or distributors to build custom marketing plans that will lead to improved sales velocities. These activities include: primary and secondary display development, budtender education, appreciation and incentives, digital marketing and custom content and account activations that tie to dispensary growth strategies. The Kiva Trade Marketing Manager will work with the broader trade marketing team and the HQ marketing team to develop and execute dispensary facing plans. You’ll recommend optimizations to our evergreen assets in your market and work with the HQ Marketing Team to bring them to life. Development and execution of occasional out of store marketing activities in your region, including but not limited to trade shows, retailer events, etc. This role will oversee a team of field marketing representatives to assist them in implementing marketing strategies through visual merchandising, customized promotional programming, digital marketing and sales velocity focused execution.The ideal candidate has experience in trade marketing and is familiar with the retail landscape in Canada. Cannabis experience is a strong plus.

  • Strong project management abilities in order to effectively oversee an organization’s strategy with key retailers
  • Experienced in crafting & executing commercial plans to maximize growth performance and ROI
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are valuable for collaborating with colleagues, overseeing personnel, building important partnerships with key retailers and representing Kiva Confections at trade shows.
  • Trade marketing managers will need strong analytical abilities in order to analyze customers’ purchasing habits and desires and develop effective ways for an organization to engage with them.
  • Self-managed and able to think independently
  • Extremely organized with a keen attention to detail, quick responder, able to multitask
  • Ability to thrive in a start-up environment: Assertive with strong follow-through and a knack for identifying potential problems & providing creative solutions

What we’re looking for...

  • 3+ years of Trade or Field Marketing experience
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • BA in trade or marketing, business, or salesB2B account management experience a must
  • Strong experience working directly with a buyer and/or marketing lead at a retailer
  • Cannabis or alcohol experience preferred
  • Collaborative, cross-functional savvy, and solution-driven spirit
  • Strong in planning, work-flow structuring, monitoring
  • Solid analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Understanding of the cannabis retail landscape or equivalent CPG industry
  • Experience with Asana, Airtable, Salesforce or other project management tools a plus
  • A reliable vehicle and the ability to travel within market
  • 21+ years of age
  • Travel required within market - Must have reliable transportation
