The Terminal Managerwill manage and operate the Shipping Station at the Richmond Cement Plant in a safe, efficient, sustainable, and quality assured manner. The incumbent must provide leadership to the terminal employees to meet sales and distribution requirements
- Operate the terminal in a safe manner, ensuring all company and provincial safety standards are met.
- Lead a team of 2 coordinators, as well as several bulk loaders and millwrights.
- Be a role model in the areas of leadership, teamwork, continuous improvement, safety and environmental stewardship.
- Liaise with the Richmond Cement Plant team to understand the interaction between manufacturing and shipping.
- Coordinate cement mill production and maintenance with the plant in order to ensure shipping demands are being met.
- Coordinate and communicate with sales, shipping locations, carriers, the regional CVC and logistics personnel to ensure efficient terminal operation and reliable customer and terminal supply.
- Develop and manage the terminal operating budget.
- Provide long-term vision to ensure the terminal and operation are positioned to meet long-term company and customer needs.
- Develop and lead all terminal improvement projects and capital projects in accordance with Lafarge policies and procedures.
- Manage and maintain terminal property and equipment in accordance with the terminal Preventive Maintenance Program.
- Ensure the terminal is clean, organized, and safe.
- Education:
- Post-secondary education in Business or Engineering, or a related discipline or trade skills.
- Exceptional and proven experience will be considered in place of formal or different educations.
- Experience and Skill Set:
- Operations or trade experience, demonstrating:
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Solid business and financial acumen
- Project experience
- Experience in construction materials, rail, trucking, or distribution industry is an asset
- Experience leading in a union environment
