BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.
BIOVECTRA Inc. has an opening for a Supply Chains Production Planner.This is a permanent full-time position located in Charlottetown, PEI.
The candidate will be responsible for:
  • Create and maintain schedules for manufacturing.
  • Build out and maintain complex Bill of Materials for production steps within BioVectra’s ERP system.
  • Chairing stakeholders’ meetings on a regular basis to align production schedule with sales, manufacturing, Procurement, Project Management, and QC departments.
  • Confirming manufacturing capacity before verifying availability of materials and scheduling.
  • Preparing material usage schedules for Procurement to program orders and manage required deliveries.
  • Initiating requisitions to Procurement department for necessary materials.
  • Constantly monitoring status of orders and communicating any required changes. Following order placement from initiation thru release for on time manufacturing.
  • Optimizing inventory levels to meet requested service with minimal spend outlay in conjunction with strict adherence to on-time manufacturing pace.
  • Identifying material shortages based on updated lead times from Procurement. Identifying and recommending resolutions to resource & material constraints.
  • Create WIP jobs in the ERP system and issue barcode sheets for material transactions.
  • Continuously monitoring pace of production thru shift reports for any exceptions in raw material usage and inventory levels to ensure continued available stock is ordered for uninterrupted on time production.
  • Performing analysis to recommend the optimal production schedule of customer orders, with key inputs from the manufacturing Managers, Project managers and Sales.
  • Booking all production jobs against the schedule and orders. Includes package jobs to production and/or warehouse departments. Monitor and update job orders in the ERP system.
  • Ensuring schedule stability by minimizing short term changes to the schedule where possible.
  • Tracking and reporting performance metrics for ongoing measure and continuous improvement.
  • Working effectively and cooperatively within a multi-functional team environment and with all departments and levels of leadership.
  • Adhering to BioVectra’s Health and Safety Policy as outlined in CP0010 Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Statements of Principle, and Responsibilities.
The successful candidate for this position should have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Science, Supply Chain, or related field. Other technical diploma supplemented with technical training at secondary level, or equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience, preferred planning and/or project management experience.
  • Must be computer literate with experience using spreadsheets, Project Planning Software, MS-Project and/or SAP/ERP systems.
  • APICS certification is a strong asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management.
  • Excellent problem solving. Mathematics, data analysis, and analytical skills.
  • Must possess excellent follow-up and planning skills.
  • Must work well under pressure and be able to prioritize workloads.
  • Well organized and detail and multi-task oriented.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with a variety of individuals and personalities within and between departments.
  • Must possess and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
Entry: $ 57,928 Salary
