Our team is growing, and Marcon Metalfab (www.marconmetal.com) is hiring an entry-level Quality Control Technician to join our dynamic team based in Delta’s Tilbury Park. This is a company and department with great growth potential for the right individual. Our fast-paced steel fabrication shop works on high-profile projects for delivering around the world. Inspections occur in an un-heated facility.
For over 30 years, Marcon Metalfab has supplied custom fabricated steel and rubber products required for infrastructure, and other projects in the transportation, building construction, utilities, mining, marine, oil, and gas sectors. Equipped with leading manufacturing technologies that allow for efficient handling and processing of materials, Marcon’s 22,000 square foot facility can support even the largest fabrication projects.

About the Position:

Shift:Regular shift is 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, but can accommodate. Potential for overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities:
  • Inspect in-process and finished fabricated parts for defects and to confirm specifications.
  • Measure flat, formed, and processed plates and materials.
  • Document information.
  • Take instructions from the Quality Manager.
  • Maintain a neat, safe, and organized working environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Experience with precision measurement using tools in Imperial and Metric.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Solid grasp of basic math skills – addition, subtraction, and fractions.
  • Competent computer skills and communication both verbal and written are required.
  • English reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension are required for understanding instructions and writing numbers and text legibly.
  • Understanding metal fabrication and the ability to read shop drawings would be an asset.
  • Working previously with steel is an asset.
  • An entry-level technical position requiring basic knowledge of the steel fabrication industry.
