• Description:* This consultant will be designing software level requirements, developing the C code and testing functions for engine control software and its communication system between it and the cockpit. He/She will be following DO-178 level A standards and will be at times using SCADE as a code generator. This is for a new engine solution but based on former models so some applications will be modified while other will be entirely new.
• Create software requirements and develop the engine controls embedded software design by working closely with internal and external customers.
• Work closely with PW control system department and other software suppliers for proper software implementation.
• Support engine tests department and suppliers’ closed-loop bench test facilities to ensure smooth execution of system tests and software verification activities.
• Support customer flight test activity.
• Review and interpret test data produced during validation testing.
• Provide continuous improvement to organizational processes based on lessons learned through implementation.
• Development will be approx 35% of the time.
• Requirements writing, investigation and small debugging, and finally documentation will occupy the remainder of their time.
