JOB OVERVIEW

The Shuttle Driver Supervisor position reports directly to the Director of Hotels and works closely with the Hotel Managers. In the role of the shuttle driver, you must be in possession of a Yukon Territory Motor Vehicle Operator’s Class 4 License and a clean driver’s abstract. The main responsibility for this position will be to provide leadership, training and scheduling of the shuttle drivers as well as schedule vehicle maintenance and other administrative tasks. When needed will assist the shuttle drivers transport guests to and from the hotels to Whitehorse International Airport (YXY). Additional transport may be required from time to time within Whitehorse city limits. During transportation of passengers, the shuttle drivers are responsible for providing a safe and clean environment for all guests.

Responsibilities Of Supervisor

• Scheduling and approving timesheets for the shuttle drivers
• Scheduling maintenance for the shuttle vehicle(s) and ensuring all inspections, safety requirements and licenses are current and good cleanliness and working condition of the vehicle(s)
• Maintain a good relationship and coordination with the airport’s agents for airport arrivals and departures.
• Schedule hotel and airport pick ups in relation to airport arrivals and departures.
• Monitor approved hotel software scheduling system for amounts of guests and arrange for extra pickups if necessary for shuttle overbooking situations.
• Ensure positive guest experiences and safety and mitigate service complaints.
• Is responsible to report to superiors any incidents or complaints.
• Provide shuttle service to and from the airport
• Greet guests upon pick up and assist with loading luggage into vehicle
• Advise guests of our properties and amenities on the way down from the airport to the hotels
• Monitor approved hotel software scheduling system for amounts of guests and arrange for extra pickups if necessary for shuttle overbooking situations
• Assist with bringing luggage into the lobby upon drop off at the hotel
• Complete a circle check of vehicle before each shift
• Ensure shuttle logs are accurate and up to date
• Clean shuttle vehicle on a daily basis (interior and exterior)
• Ensure the vehicle is fueled or charged as required
• Follow traffic regulations and follow safety procedures when operating the shuttle
• As directed, assist with potential errands for the hotel within city limits
• As needed ensure the lobbies and general entrance are clean and safe for guests
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the workspace
• Welcome and acknowledge guests with a smile
• Provide information about their destined hotel
• Answer inquiries, offer suggestions, and provide descriptive and activities about the city including trips, excursions, sports events, concerts, restaurants, and more.
• Maintain familiarity of operations of, Front Desk and Houseperson duties as directed by the hotel operations teams
• Must be able to switch from working alone to collaborating with the hotel operations team throughout the shift

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Must be able to work flexible hours including mornings, afternoons, and evening hours
• May be required to move, lift, carry, pull and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds
• Stand, sit or walk for an extended period or for an entire shift
• May include bending, twisting and pulling
