: Sessional Lecturer - PPG2017H-F: Urban Land Use and Transportation


Course description
: This course will introduce students to a wide range of topics in transportation and land use research and policies. Topics include but are not limited to proximity in cities (15-minute cities, transit-oriented development, complete streets, and space re-allocation processes), pricing (congestion pricing and parking policies), inclusive transport policies for equity-deserving groups, emerging mobility technologies, climate change, and coordinated transport and land use policies, including housing and urban sprawl issues. National, regional and local scale issues and strategies will be addressed. The geographic focus of the course will largely be Toronto, but other metropolitan regions in Canada, the United States, and the Global South will be used for comparative purposes.

Salary
: Sessional Lecturer I - $9,457.90; Sessional Lecturer I, Long Term - $9,930.79; Sessional Lecturer II - $10,121.77; Sessional Lecturer II (Long Term) - $10,326.62; Sessional Lecturer III - $10,362.76; Sessional Lecturers III (Long Term) - $10,570.02


Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail.


Minimum qualifications
: Graduate degree in Human Geography or related field is required, with specialization in suburban mobilities . Extensive knowledge of and experience in urban policy.


Preferred qualifications:
Teaching experience at the graduate level preferred. Completed PhD preferred.


Description of duties
: Teaching at the graduate level, developing the syllabus, teaching three-hour classes, providing weekly office hours for academic counseling of students, preparing and delivering course material, preparing and delivering assignments and tests, marking student work and submitting grades.
