Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.Key Responsibilities IncludeThe Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing a large portfolio of multi-disciplinary projects in all phases of project delivery of transit Projects, in particular, transit operations, transit infrastructure and maintenance facilities.
  • Providing oversight and being responsible for an entire Program and for the work of multiple Project Managers and teams.
  • Directing the Consultant Team which will include Project Management staff, Discipline Leads and all staff included to manage and deliver a Project as required to the satisfaction of the client.
  • Being responsible for the successful delivery of Projects, coordination of a Program’s projects and management of their inter-dependencies, including oversight of risks and issues.
  • Applying thorough and consistent methodology/approach to project deliverables and quality of submissions.
  • Building a strong working relationship with the client and ensuring project team continues to deliver high quality of work.
  • Verifying that submissions are prepared in accordance with professional practice guidelines and client design standards.
  • Ensuring all project deliverables are complete and compliant with the client’s quality requirements and checklists.
  • Managing day to day activities of the project team and the Subconsultants
  • Representing the Consultant team at meetings, presentations and addresses issues raised by the client.
  • Overseeing and assisting the client with their permit applications, property requirements and other approvals.
  • Responding to the client in a timely manner
  • Monitoring staffing needs and gaps in expertise required for advancement of a Program.
  • Mentoring project management and junior staff in a project.
  • Reporting on Program and projects’ performance to HDR’s senior management.
  • Managing project risks and mitigating those risks in a timely fashion to minimize impact to Program performance.
  • Incorporating lessons learned into a project.
Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrates 14+ years of direct working experience in management of multi discipline design and construction for transit operations, infrastructure and or maintenance facilities and is responsible for overseeing all phases of the Program lifecycle.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) desired
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or Architect
  • Technical experience in transit engineering based disciplines
  • Extensive experience in cost control, scheduling and risk management is a must
  • Experience in a Transit Engineering and facilities based assignments
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Experience using MS Project Scheduling and Primavera
  • Tenacity to be able to drive a Program with minimal supervision
