Senior Finance Analyst, Reporting & Consolidation

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Finance Analyst, Reporting and Consolidation to join our team in Langley BC.

Reporting to the Manger, Finance, you will assist in preparing financial reporting packages for the internal Save-On-Foods executive committee as well as assist in preparing consolidated reporting packages for other associated entities. In this role, you will be in regular communication with different finance teams. You will also work closely with the Anaplan team to leverage new technologies for our recurring reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

You will be responsible for:

• Supporting the Finance Manager in consolidated reporting for the group of related entities.

• Ensuring financial statements are complete and accurate. Preparing journal entries as required and resolving any related issues.

• Assisting in coordinating the period end close for the business.

• Researching and commenting on financial statement variances (period, quarter, and/or annual basis). Identifying abnormalities or trends that may exist.

• Documenting and evaluating the effectiveness of business processes and controls.

• Assessing opportunities for business or system process improvements/efficiencies.

• Performing data mining and analysis to identify trends, patterns, and metrics.

• Assisting with special projects and ad hoc analysis as required.

• Supporting other departments (ie. Operations, Merchandising, etc.) with both ad-hoc and recurring reporting requirements.

You have:

• A CPA designation.

• 3 – 5 years financial accounting or auditing experience, ideally within a retail environment.

• Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

• Database knowledge and query development considered an asset.

• Previous full cycle accounting experience considered an asset.

• Experience with cloud reporting platforms, such as Anaplan, considered an asset.

• Experience with platforms, such as PowerBI, considered an asset.

This position is based at Save-On-Foods’ Langley office and the successful candidate is expected to work in person at the office.
