Security Supervisor

Job Description Summary

Location:Devonshire Mall, Windsor ON

Reporting to: Security Manager Devonshire Mall

Scheduled Hours:40 hours per week, rotating Shifts (Days and Evenings)

Job Description

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Daily supervision of Security Personnel oversee security assignments, incident reporting and patrols
  • Complete all daily supervisory inspections as detailed by the Security Manager
  • Maintain ongoing communication with Security Manager to ensure information is shared on a timely and effective basis
  • Ensure that proper procedures are observed relative to reporting of liability claims and completion of occurrence reports
  • Immediately notify the Security Manager in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons and immediately report same to local police and fire services
  • Develop and maintain communications with office and retail tenants, various local law enforcement services, local fire prevention personnel and to liaise with Security peers in the market place
  • Act as chair for the Health and Safety Committee
  • Assist in implementing of emergency procedures, disaster recovery plans, building access control, security systems, reports and recommendations
  • Maintain training records and implement any training material relative to the job description
  • Be an Ambassador for the property owners and visitors
  • Any other task as directed by Security Manager
Skills And Experiences
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in law enforcement would be deemed and asset;
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in retail environment;
  • Proven supervisory experience;
  • Must hold a valid Ontario Security Licence;
  • Fully competent in all aspects of health & safety legislations;
  • Public relations and customer service focused;
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple direct reports;
  • Excellent inter personal skills; Strong coaching , mentoring and training skills;
  • Self-motivated, self-confident, diplomatic, innovative and able to accept challenges;
  • Superior written and oral communication skills;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Must be able to provide a clear police clearance;
