Title

Security and Facilities Manager

Reports To

General Manager

Summary

The Security and Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall security of the Casino operations. He/she is responsible for the safety of customers, employees, and property. The Security Manager understands his/her role as an ambassador and provides positive experiences to all customers and will coordinate the day-to-day operation of the maintenance department. This position requires developed social skills, diplomacy, and negotiating skills.

Job Duties

  • Under the direction of the General Manager, the Security Manager is responsible for the overall security of the casino facility, casino employees, casino guests and volunteer workers.
  • Executing assigned duties in a positive and professional manner in accordance with Casino Terms and Conditions, Operating Guidelines and established company policies.
  • Responsible to hire, train and develop the Security team
  • Ensures that all monies and chips are safe guarded in accordance with policy.
  • Arms and disarms alarm systems.
  • Ensures schedules and duties are assigned with the Security guards.
  • Provides prompt, courteous and friendly service to patrons and to fellow employees.
  • Completes written reports on all incidents.
  • Maintains the integrity of the gaming industry in Alberta and in accordance with AGLC
  • Ensure surveillance and recording equipment is in good operating condition.
  • Identify and monitor suspected criminal activity.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge of all casino games and methods of play.
  • Liaisons with and provides assistance to the local police service.
  • Conducts preventative patrols, enforces casino policies.
  • Oversee and maintain the administration of security programs.
  • Participate in other projects as assigned.
  • Monitor all incoming and outgoing employees, customers, vendors and suppliers.
  • Participate in training seminars in all operations areas.
  • Participate in monthly Casino operational and departmental meetings.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment, structures and grounds on the property.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Perform regular property inspections of units, common areas, building exteriors, and landscape.
  • Ensure effective management of loss prevention, risk management, security, maintenance, marketing, landscaping, snow removal, ventilation, heating, cooling and other daily activities.
  • Keep accurate records of space conditions including roof, HVAC and utilities.
  • Plan and manage replacement of major capital expense items such as HVAC system, roof systems and parking lot surfaces.
  • Provide general status reports for all properties as scheduled
  • Request for quotations, make contracts, supervise work and approve invoices for all services required to maintain the properties.
  • Ensure 24/7 availability of emergency services.
  • Oversee all maintenance mechanics working at managed properties.
  • Contacts appropriate maintenance service shop for major repairs.
  • Maintains heating and air conditioning systems, boilers, pumps, fan units, control panels, thermostats, cooling towers, etc.
  • Maintains and/or has a working knowledge of environmental safeguards and alarm systems.
  • Maintains fire alarms, extinguishers.
  • Monitors emergency generator, function, and orders refueling.
  • Plan and prioritize work for self and staff.
  • Determine needed supplies and equipment.
  • Monitor need for equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and facilities.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
  • Set priorities for preventative maintenance work orders, maintenance requisitions and scheduled work.
  • Operate grounds-keeping power equipment and maintain the external property.
  • Adhere to departmental procedures and systems, e.g., "systems for preventative maintenance", "maintenance requisitions", scheduled work and continued quality improvement/risk management programs.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment, manuals and warranties.

Requirements

  • Professional appearance and manners.
  • Previous experience as a Security guard required.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.

  • Computer literacy, including effective working knowledge of MS Office
  • Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance


Casino Security functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four (24) hours a day. All leaders and associates must realize this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to move from an accustomed shift as business demands. In addition, it is understood that business determines the number of hours worked and that some weeks as leaders we may be scheduled to work fewer than forty-four (44) hours, and on other weeks we may be scheduled to work more than forty-four (44) hours per week.

  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Must be available to work all shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
