We are looking for a Scheduler/Dispatcher who will work with the Supervisor, Transportation. The Scheduler/Dispatcher is responsible for ensuring that service coordination related to or between clients, community partners, co-workers and Community Health and Wellness programs are provided in accordance with the Red Cross’ mission statement, established policies and procedures, relevant legislation, government guidelines and any contractual requirements.


As a Scheduler/Dispatcher you will:

  • Provide client/driver/volunteer service coordination on a daily basis.
  • Develop and distributes client/driver/volunteer service schedule and informs all parties of changes to schedules.
  • Receive routine referrals/intake information from Funders and private clients.
  • Assess availability and appropriateness of driver/volunteer for routine assignment referring to service agreements and contracts, policies and procedures.
  • Enter all relevant client information (both live and recorded) into the Client Information Management System (CIMS).
  • Enter service hours and adjustments to the system for both the client and volunteer.
  • Verify integrity of data and makes corrections as necessary.
  • Produce schedules and reports on a regular basis, and upon request.
  • Provide support and general direction to drivers/volunteers, as appropriate.
  • Receive concerns from clients/drivers/volunteers with regards to scheduling practices and re-directs to appropriate professional.

What we are looking for:

  • One to two (1-2) years of postsecondary education and one to three (1-3) years of job-related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer Service experience is an asset.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work flow.
  • Experience in a fast-paced and team oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset.

Working conditions:

  • In-office attendance required during regular hours - located mainly in Hamilton.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Must provide backup for all schedulers for programs in surrounding areas.
  • Most of the work is performed in an environment which is clean and professional.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours.
  • Full vaccination against COVID-19 is mandatory for this position and operation (the CRC will however adhere to its duty to accommodate those who are unable to be fully vaccinated for a reason related to a human right protected ground).
