We are looking for an enthusiastic emerging leader to join the ’ROX team’ !

The Richmond Olympic Experience (ROX) at the Richmond Olympic Oval is the first member of the International Olympic Committee’s Olympic Museums Network to be located in North America. A highly interactive and dynamic visitor experience, the ROX features interactive media, hands-on sporting simulations and displays – all of which provide the visitor with the experience of what it’s like to achieve a dream, becoming a hero to millions around the globe. About The Role

As a Service Representative for the ROX, you are passionate about providing exceptional customer service, and serve as an ambassador for our museum. You will demonstrate leadership and have a high level of energy and enthusiasm. You will be responsible for supervising staff and volunteers in order to ensure the smooth daily operations in the museum.

Core Responsibilities

Acts as on-floor supervisor with the support of department management

Leads or assists in the briefing and debriefing of museum volunteers

Demonstrates leadership and initiative and helps ensures volunteers are motivated and enthusiastic

Helps encourage and support volunteers as required and notes any issues of importance back to department management

Works in conjunction with department management, Client Service Representatives, other Oval staff, and volunteers to ensure the guest has a positive experience while at the Richmond Olympic Oval and Richmond Olympic Experience

Assists in building relationships with visitors

Monitors gallery space and exhibits for participant and guest safety

Contributes to administering and monitoring facility bookings, tours, corporate and school groups

Provides administrative assistance to department management as required

Provides guests with interpretation services including information about museum artifacts, exhibit content, programs and the Olympic movement

Manages and ensures the proper use and maintenance of equipment, simulators and exhibits while on the floor

Your Schedule

Up to 20 hours per week;

Available to satisfy flexible work schedule demands;

Must be available weekends

The qualifications and skills you bring to this role include,

Successful completion of Grade 12

Valid Standard First Aid, CPR-C and AED Certificate

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Excellent attention to detail, ability to organize, and good time management skills

Experience working in a customer service setting

Experience working in a museum, cultural institution, or tourism related business considered an asset

Experience supervising staff or volunteers or a strong desire to build and grow these skills

Participation in or graduation from a recognized sport or museum related post-secondary program considered an asset

Passion for sport, athleticism, the Olympics and/or the Olympic Movement

Passion for sharing information with others

Ability and desire to create a welcoming environment for all museum visitors and stakeholders

Must be able to complete a successful Criminal Record Check.

Compensation range:
$20.22 per hour (plus 12% in lieu)
