Are you an experienced business researcher looking to help shape Canada’s future? Join Deloitte’s premier thought leadership centre exploring new ideas, viewpoints and insights to shape a new age of growth and prosperity across the country.

What will your typical day look like?

As a researcher you will support the Research Lead in overseeing and executing day-to-day research activities, including developing and executing on qualitative and quantitative research plans to ensure Deloitte is a leading voice on the issues that matter.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers to leverage primary and secondary research, including firm research and insights to develop high-profile thought leadership pieces, articles and presentations.

And you’ll support the development of research across the rest of Deloitte, in order to ensure a consistently high standard of research, by coordinating and collaborating with relevant experts and practitioners within our firm and across our global network.

About The Team

The Future of Canada Centre is Deloitte’s public policy and thought leadership centre. It houses a multidisciplinary team of Deloitte’s most innovative thinkers and experienced leaders, who are valued influencers in their respective fields.

The Centre performs original research and publishes reports, articles, and papers that provide insights for businesses, governments, and academia. The Centre draws upon research and experience from throughout our organization to advance the conversation on a broad spectrum of topics of interest to our firm, our clients, and our country.

The Centre also coordinates public policy activities across the firm as well as the development of policy positions on priority issues.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone who has:
  • An undergraduate or Master’s degree, preferably in public policy, economics, or business
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in non-academic research, such as a government organization, think tank or within a commercial setting
  • Ability to develop and present new ideas and conceptualize new approaches and solutions
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
Assets include:
  • Experience managing others in research projects in a non-academic environment
  • Previous experience within a professional services firm / government / think tank
  • Experience leading quantitative research, including analysis of secondary data (e.g. Statistics Canada) data
  • Proficient at designing and analyzing large-scale surveys
  • French language skills
