Position Highlights

We are currently looking for a Relief Full Time Representativeto provide service and support by monitoring work flow issues and staff performance concerns, participate in the department planning process, implementing new processes, and making process improvement recommendations in our very busy Benefits & Employee Information team. You will be working at our office in Latitude Uptown located in New Westminster, B.C.with access to public transit and other amenities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Act as a subject matter expert, resource and first line of contact for the Representatives in Benefits and Employee Information including supporting the day-to-day workflow of the team.
  • Keep the Lead apprised of departmental changes and ongoing requirements, ensuring timely resolutions to benefit processing concerns.
  • Provide formal and informal feedback to the Representatives to support their individual objectives.
  • Act as a liaison between the Benefits, Payroll, Work Design, and other HR Employee Experience departments.
  • Support the Attendance Promotion process by monitoring attendance, supporting employees and addressing attendance concerns in conjunction with the Lead as they arise.
  • Assist the Lead with supervisory functions such as recruitment, selection and other related processes as required.
  • Provide feedback and support the Lead in the preparation of performance appraisals.

Professional/Technical Capabilities:

  • Ability to work successfully within team environment and foster a positive work culture.
  • Working knowledge of applicable regulations, legislation and collective agreements.
  • Knowledge of processing employee life events (new hires, position transfers, terminations) in a multi-site, multi-union organization applying public sector collective agreements.
  • Strong computer and keyboarding skills and proficiency in the use of computer applications that include systems such as Meditech and database, spreadsheet and desktop office programs.
  • Excellent client relation skills including strong written and verbal communication skills and solution seeking approaches to problem solving.
  • Ability to analyze and find solutions to issues in a large, fast-paced multi-union environment.
  • Ability to set and maintain priorities and meet deadlines along with strong multi-tasking skills and result-oriented focus.

Are you motivated to join us? We will be looking for you to have the following:

  • Diploma in Human Resource Management or a related discipline
  • Three (3) years of recent related Benefits experience

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience is acceptable.

This Relief Full Time position is available until March 31, 2023 or return of incumbent.
