Your Opportunity:The Inpatient Unit is comprised of medical, surgical, LDR and postpartum care. The Registered Nurse participates in nursing assessments and interventions, care planning, implementing prescribed treatments, administering medications, evaluating treatments and monitoring/documenting treatment progress and patient response. Acting as an advocate, coordinator and liaison for the patient, the RN identifies needs and sets priorities in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. The RN facilitates patient and family centered education and discharge planning, and may be required to act in a Charge/Resource nurse capacity. The RN will be assigned in the med/surg area and/or the LDRP area of the unit. As part of the multi-disciplinary team the RN will be participating in quality monitoring activities to improve patient outcomes. The RN is responsible for the provision of care in accordance with the established standards, and the Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Alberta Health Services.Description:As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).Additional Required Qualifications:Min 2 years of recent med/surg nursing exp. Min 2 years of recent obstetrical nursing exp. Completion of SCC’s will be expected.Preferred Qualifications:Excellent communication skills. The ability to balance numerous demands & conflicting priorities is essential. The candidate must be able to work well independently and within a team. Demonstrates critical thinking skills, within scope of practice, including clinical judgment, problem solving skills and strong decision-making ability. Cardiac monitor interpretation is an asset. Current NRP certification is preferred. Current ACLS certification is preferred.
