The Rail Analyst will provide the necessary administrative and analytical support to the Distribution team to ensure flawless delivery of billing, movement of rail cars, and execution of maintenance activities.Roles And Responsibilities
- Generate patterns for CP and CN for billing purposes
- Input daily bills in support of the four loading racks across the site and work with CP/CN troubleshoot any billing issues
- Assist customer contacts of analysis into billing inquiries
- Interface with partners and communicate production rates and loading plans
- Provide transparency around contract compliance and look for cost saving opportunities
- Review parts contracts and identify cost saving strategies
- Work with Inventory Analysts on non-stock, min-max levels, etc.
- Enter purchase requisitions and , assist Purchase Order Team on vendor and delivery requirements
- Provide weekly/monthly reports as required (KPI reporting, Bourque Analytics etc.)
- Provide monthly inventory reports
- Update daily metric rail planning tools
- Maintain and update fleet lists for catalyst cars
- Assist with the coordination of the orientations of 3rd party trucking contractors
- Demonstrates initiative to independently plan, organize, and prioritize workload taking into consideration conflicting deadlines and multiple projects/tasks
- Demonstrates effective oral and written communication with employees and customers
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures
- Skilled in the use of computer equipment, operating systems, word processing, spreadsheet and database software;
- Demonstrates information gathering skills used to find and identify essential information
- Ability to exercise discretion and good judgement in providing information to internal or external customers in a courteous and tactful manner with regard to sensitive or confidential issues
- High capacity to process information and exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Minimum 2-3 years’ working in distribution in the oil and gas industry
- Experience within the rail industry with billing and car movements considered an asset
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience with SAP software considered an asset
- Experience with workforce management software as well as awareness of contract management is an asset
