Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Resilient Environments - Canada is hiring a Project Quality Lead for our Project Management Office (PMO) which provides project management services to major projects across Canada.

The Project Quality Lead will provide quality management support during the pursuit (RFQ/RFP) and execution of infrastructure D&B/P3 projects.

Please note this position can be based in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia with the option to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote the awareness of quality management principles (including quality inductions) and provide advice and guidance to peers and colleagues.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for RFQs/RFPs
  • Communicate with Customer Quality staff, as required, or delegated by the Project Manager/PMO Director
  • Implement Quality Management System requirements as directed by the PMO Director ensuring compliance with Wood and client quality standards and/or ISO 9001:2015 and other requirements.
  • Plan quality activities to be performed in line with agreed budgets.
  • Prepare and implement Design Quality Management Plans (DQMP) in accordance with client and project management plan requirements.
  • Assist the Supply Change Management Group with preparing contract quality requirements
  • Review supplier and subconsultants Quality Management Plans
  • Attend kick off meetings as required to provide quality support and advice on quality deliverables.
  • Plan, implement and report on both internal and external risk based audit programs.
  • Perform site quality audit of Wood and subcontractors. Support site for customer quality audits
  • Complete audit reports
  • Follow up on non-conformance reports, opportunities for improvement, areas of concern, or recommendations
  • Manage the tracking of audit findings in the appropriate NCR and corrective action tracking systems.
  • Manage and analyze data arising from non-conformance and corrective actions.
  • Provide input to and participate as required in quality management reporting and reviews.
  • Work across functions to identify continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and develop quality resources.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering or related discipline
  • Membership of CQI/ASQ or equivalent (desirable)
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualification
  • 10+ years relevant experience in major infrastructure consulting projects (D&B, P3) as part of the Design Lead Team.
  • Comprehensive understanding and application of ISO 9001:2015
  • Proficient in the analysis of processes and data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
