About this opportunity:
Cenovus Energy’s Downstream Manufacturing team has an exciting opportunity available for a Process Engineering Manager. This position will report to the Downstream Lloydminster Technical Services Senior Manager and will be responsible for the supervision, planning, and direction of activities for the Process Engineering and Process Control Engineering resources.
We are looking for a candidate who is a driven, result oriented professional with proven leadership and Process Engineering experience.
Work Environment:
This is a full-time position working a 5 and 2 work schedule (Monday to Friday) supporting the Downstream complexes in the Lloydminster area including the Upgrader, Asphalt Refinery and the Ethanol Facility.
This position is at the Lloydminster Upgrader and requires the successful candidate to live in the Lloydminster area.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership administration and technical direction to a team of Process and Process Control Engineers
  • Provide mentorship and professional development plan support of direct reports and ensure adherence to the Professional Practice Management Plan
  • Provide technical resources (direct reports, technical support contractors and contracts) for the safe and reliable process design of the Lloydminster Upgrader, Lloydminster Ethanol Plant, and Lloydminster Asphalt Refinery
  • Provide technical resources for design and/or design review of MOC’s, maintenance projects, small projects, and large projects
  • Responsible for development of facilities long term opportunities, process reliability enhancements and process safety enhancements
  • Responsible for the project front-end development, process parameters, and maintaining process safety information of the facilities
  • Provide technical resources to plan and perform process equipment inspections during major and minor maintenance outages
  • Owner of the Management of Change Program, collaborating with resources for improvements, sustainment, and verification
  • Support the development of budgeting for long range plan of facilities and short term adjustments
  • Provide technical resources to develop, maintain and sustain advanced control systems and alarm management program
  • Provide technical resources to the process data historian functions and applications
  • Provide technical resources to develop facilities design case simulations
Qualifications:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation with APEGA or APEGS
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Chemical/Industrial); Engineers from other disciplines with related process experience will be considered
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in Oil and Gas Refining and Upgrading facilities
  • Knowledge and experience in the practical application of process safety and process design best practices, codes and standards
  • Ability to respond and adjust team’s direction and resource loading to the operational requirements of facilities and long term sustainment projects/programs
  • Experience with mentoring, guiding and developing professionals into leaders and technical experts
  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required
  • This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Cenovus Drug and Alcohol policy which includes pre-assignment testing
