Job Location: For this role, we are open to remote work and can hire anywhere in the United States and Canada

About the position:

Ceridian is looking for a seasoned privacy professional to serve as privacy partner to some areas of our business that innovate with and around data . This role reports into the VP Privacy.

The Ceridian Privacy team operates as a high functioning team within a relatively flat team structure. You will fit right in if you are innovative, collaborative, enthusiastic, result-orientated, independent, and engaged.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Act independently with little direction to uncover, analyze and resolve privacy issues
  • Help the business build privacy by design into product features, business processes and data initiatives
  • understand your internal customers’ business needs and work with teams across the organization to guide scalable and practical solutions to enable the business to innovate in privacy-enabling ways-Be responsible for providing guidance on complex, high- profile projects, keep track of it all, and provide reports
  • Conduct targeted assurance reviews (aka “health checks”), and present results to the business, including senior leadership as needed
  • Serve as a principal spokesperson and evangelist internally with all levels of the organization to promote good data management practices, and privacy as a matter of trust
  • Collaborate with other members of the Global Privacy Office to help build, shape, enhance and roll out the company’s global privacy management program
  • Assist corporate, product, and marketing teams with developing marketing strategies and collateral to tell our privacy story

Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in and around privacy compliance and risk
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required, and JD, MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Law Degree preferred
  • Experience working for a fast paced, fast growing, public tech SaaS company (preferable)
  • A certification such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or CIPT is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Master knowledge of privacy best practices, and working knowledge of major legal frameworks (e.g., CCPA, GDPR, PIPEDA, ePrivacy).
  • Strong knowledge on privacy issues in relation to evolving technology (e.g., mobile, cloud, data lakes, machine learning).
  • A strong ability to dig into PI & data flows from a technical perspective
  • Business acumen
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A strong sense of initiative and drive to improve
  • Organizational skills and project management skills are essential.
  • Analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex information into practical guidance are critical
