Position #1:
The responsibilities of this position will include:
- Assessing climate change impacts on PEI’s ecosystems using the state-of-the-art remote sensing technologies
- Conducting integrated flood modeling and risk assessment for PEI and its major cities
- Publishing research results in a timely manner in high-impact journals
- Writing project reports and research proposals
- Organizing meetings/webinars/conferences
- Supervising graduate and undergraduate students
- Hold a PhD degree in a climate-related field
- Have published peer-reviewed papers in the top-tier journals in the field of hydroclimate
- Have demonstrated research experience in climate modeling, hydrological/flood modeling, and remote sensing applications
- Have demonstrated experience with various software tools or programming languages, such as R, Matlab, Python, ArcGIS, QGIS, HEC-HMS/RAS, SWAT, Leaflet, AutoCAD, Photoshop, etc.
- Be self-motivated and have strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated experience with managing multiple tasks
- Be willing to collaborate and work with an interdisciplinary research team
- Have previous research experience about PEI’s climate change issues (this is not required but will be a great asset for consideration)
The responsibilities of this position will include:
- Developing net-zero carbon emission policies for PEI
- Developing effective climate policies to protect PEI’s coastline and major economic sectors (e.g., agriculture, fisheries, and tourism) from long-term climate change
- Assessing the health impacts of climate change in the context of PEI
- Publishing research results in a timely manner in high-impact journals
- Writing project reports and research proposals
- Organizing meetings/webinars/conferences
- Supervising graduate and undergraduate students
- Hold a PhD degree in a climate-related field
- Have published peer-reviewed papers in the top-tier journals in the field of climate policy or health
- Have demonstrated research experience in climate data management, field surveys and data collection, vulnerability assessment, environmental health and safety, policy analysis
- Have demonstrated experience with various data processing tools, such as R, SPSS, LINDO, SAS, SQL, etc.
- Be self-motivated and have strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated experience with managing multiple tasks
- Be willing to collaborate and work with an interdisciplinary research team
- Have previous research experience about PEI’s climate change issues (this is not required but will be a great asset for consideration)
