GeoVerra is currently seeking a Planner to support our Land Use Planning team, located in Swift Current, SK. The primary purpose of this role is to maintain client relationships through exceptional client communications for the delivery of services that meet or exceed client expectations. The Planner will collaborate with a team of other Planners, Surveyors, and Geomatics professionals to facilitate land and policy development through a variety of projects in the public and private sector.Key Responsibilities
- Build and nurture client relationships and identify opportunities.
- Utilize internal resources to engage further technical expertise in developing custom client solutions.
- Assure high quality deliverables to clients.
- Demonstrate an understanding of all regulatory and technical requirements for your projects.
- Design residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional subdivisions applications.
- Evaluate or assist in evaluation of rezoning, bylaw amendments, site plans, special use permits.
- Assist in the preparation of Official Community Plans and Zoning Bylaws.
- Act as liaison between community groups, government agencies and developers in developing subdivision plans and bylaws.
- Assess the conditions and impacts of the economic, physical, political, environmental and social variables effected by the development.
- Prepare statutory plans, community plans, and related land use bylaws for client review.
- Completing other duties as assigned.
- Diploma or Degree in Urban Planning or related discipline.
- Member in good standing or eligible for membership in the Saskatchewan Professional Planners Institute.
- 1-3 years experience working as a Planner.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines
- Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in the organization; is a great team member.
- Ability to work without supervision; effective time management and strong organizational skills.
- Contribute on an on-going basis toward maintaining a safe working environment both for yourself and for those working with you or in your close vicinity.
- Proficient in Windows; MS Word and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work to deadlines and see tasks through to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Adaptable and able to think outside the box.
