Nova Scotia Health Authority provides health services to Nova Scotians and some specialized services to Maritimers and Atlantic Canadians. Our team of health professionals includes employees, doctors, researchers, learners and volunteers that provide the health care or services you may need. This is accomplished across four geographic management zones which are responsible for the operation of acute care health centres and the provision of a variety of inpatient, outpatient services including academic, tertiary, quaternary care and community based programs and services including continuing care, primary health care, public health, and mental health and addictions.
Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Manager Clinical Services, this pharmacist will participate in the provision of direct pharmaceutical care to inpatients/outpatients as a member of the interdisciplinary care team. Duties include patient counseling, medication monitoring, student mentoring, drug utilization reviews, liaison with Community Pharmacists and education/drug information. He/she participates in any clinical pharmacy research in which the Clinical Division Manager is involved.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized School of Pharmacy
- Eligible for the registration with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists required
- Completion of a Hospital pharmacy residency program preferred and/or equivalent related direct patient care experience (minimal 2 years) in a hospital setting
- Knowledge of medication patient safety therapeutics required
- Knowledge of medication patient safety concepts an asset
- Experience in evidence based clinical research an asset
- Strong teaching ability/experience required
- Experience in critical appraisal of scientific literature required
- Proven effective oral and written communication skills required
- Experience as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team required
- Ability to prioritize work responsibilities and to work well under time pressures required
- Demonstrated interest in professional development and lifelong learning required
- Good attendance and work record required
Hours of Work
Part Time (80%) Position; 60 hours biweekly
Long Assignment, commencing September 14, 2021, with an anticipated end date of September 14, 2022

Salary Information
Pharmacist
$40.9559 - $49.9240 hourly
