The BCRCC is a Union that represents its members who work in carpentry. We are looking for our full time, front desk, member-facing, people person! You will work out of our office based in Delta, which is also a 30 thousand square foot training centre with ample parking. You will get to see apprentices learn their trades, work closely with Union executives, and help our members navigate the Union’s services!

We offer a close-knit, collegial environment, with long-term knowledgeable staff to work along-side. With a smart-casual dress code, we aren’t too fussy! And our Benefits are amazing! 100% employer paid extended health benefits including dental, optical, prescriptions, disability, and life insurance. We also offer a defined benefit pension – similar to the kind Government offers it’s employees. Again – totally employer paid! None of this comes off your pay cheque. Talking about competitive pay… we offer a starting rate of $31.38 per hour/ 7 hours a day/ 1 hour lunch break/ 30 mins of coffee breaks. Plus! There’s a 2% bonus paid every December! You also get 3 weeks of vacation after a year of work (5 of which are unlocked after 6 months) along with 15 paid Stat Holidays! And if you’re sick we got your back - with 1.5 sick days every month that you can bank for later if you don’t use them!

What will you be doing?

  • Answering telephone and email inquiries.
  • Determining office procedures in collaboration with others.
  • Greeting visitors and giving them basic information or forms or directing them to the right person.
  • Assisting representatives with administrative needs, and various computer programs.
  • Taking payment from members for various accounts and reconciling for the Accounting Department.
  • Data entry & updating membership records.

You will need to be…

  • A flexible, service oriented, people person.
  • Able to use standard computer applications including various Microsoft programs (e.g., Word and Outlook), the internet, and to learn new data management systems.
  • Able to work both independently, under limited supervision, and in a team environment while taking initiative to learn the ins and outs of the Union.
