We are currently seeking a professional, highly skilled, and experienced individual to assume the challenging and rewarding position of Manager, Taxation, Budgeting and Evaluation. Under the supervision of the Director of Corporate Services, the incumbent is responsible for the City’s property taxation, budget development, financial reporting, long-term financial planning, budget and taxation policy development, analysis of the financial impact of proposed programs and the development of program performance measures and benchmarks. The incumbent supervises the Taxation, Budget, and Evaluation Division.

Candidates must have a university degree along with a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and a minimum of 8 years’ experience in finance, budgeting, and/or accounting. A minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience supervising or managing staff is required.

This position requires objectivity and sound judgement in planning and monitoring all aspects of the City’s budget preparations, long-term financial planning, departmental performance measurement, statistical analysis, assessment and taxation operations, and in providing sound advice to Senior Management. In addition, the work requires complex decisions involving many interrelated factors and made within the context of resources availability. A strong knowledge of accounting principles, municipal legislations, budget, and information system programs and procedures is necessary.

The position has a salary range of $133,679 to $167,098 and a comprehensive benefits package including housing and vacation travel allowances totalling $450 a month, a defined benefit pension plan, and relocation assistance.
