As the Manager, IM/IT and CIO at CanNor, you and your team would work in partnership with other government departments such as Shared Services Canada to deliver IM and IT services to all of CanNor’s offices across the North, and a satellite office in Ottawa. If you’re looking for challenges, you will have an opportunity to gain valuable work skills with experienced team members.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill one (1) full-time permanent, Manager, IM/IT & CIO (IT-04) position in Iqaluit, Nunavut.

A pool of qualified candidates may also be established and may be used by other federal organizations operating in the North.

Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement who are found qualified in this staffing process will be appointed ahead of other qualified applicants.

Education:

ED1 : Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum post-secondary education stated.

Degree equivalency

Education

Professional certification in areas such as ITIL; Project Management Professional (PMP); Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), PRINCE2, TOGAF, or Cloud Technologies.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS :

EXPERIENCE

AE1. Experience in the Government of Canada procurement process for IM/IT goods and/or services.

AE2. Significant** experience in planning, managing, delivering, or implementing complex*** IT projects.

AE3. Experience in consultation, negotiation and strategic partnerships and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.

AE4. Experience working in the North preferably in Nunavut, the Yukon, or the Northwest Territories.

** Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience associated
with having performed a broad range of complex activities related to this task, which are
normally acquired over two (2) years.

*** Complex projects / issues are with at least two (2) of the following characteristics:
multidimensional, sensitive, confidential, affecting many partners or stakeholders,
precedent setting, having a major impact on the public service.

Conditions of employment

Secret security clearance

Medical Clearance: The incumbent and his/her dependents (including incumbent’s spouse or common-law partner and children) may be required to obtain Health Canada medical clearance in accordance with the Isolated Posts and Government Housing Directive.
