DARTMOUTH, NOVA SCOTIA, FREDERICTON, NEW BRUNSWICK The Opportunity

You will help to deliver existing water resource, mine development and contaminated sites projects in Atlantic Canada. As a Junior Hydrogeologist with WSP, you will bring academic and/or work experience directly related to water resource development and protection. You will also be adapt your experience to projects related to watershed assessments, flood risk mapping and contaminated sites management. This role offers a variety of work including office based work and field based work.

A Day In The Life
  • You’ll provide input to the development of conceptual hydrogeological models;
  • You will complete data analysis which may include hydraulic conductivity tests, pump tests, water balance and geochemical assessments;
  • You may be assisting in hydrogeological interpretations and groundwater-surface water interactions;
  • You may be assisting in the development of numerical groundwater models;
  • You will be completing background documentation reviews;
  • You’ll conduct field investigations including soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water sampling;
  • You will oversee drilling and excavation contractors;
  • You will conduct management of water, soil, sediment quality data;
  • You’ll support in the preparation of reports and you may be assisting in the preparation of proposals;
  • You will be actively participating in health and safety programs;
We’d love to hear from you if you have ...
  • A Masters degree specializing in Geosciences, Hydrogeology, Engineering or related discipline; or Bachelor degree specializing in Geosciences, Hydrogeology, Engineering or related discipline;
  • 1 - 3 years previous applicable work experience;
  • Eligibility for registration as a Geologist in Training or Engineer in Training in Nova Scotia and/or New Brunswick;
  • If you have demonstrated experience using GIS for geospatial analyses, that’s a bonus!
  • Experience in the practical application of numerical groundwater modelling programs is also a bonus.
  • Your willingness to be mobile in Nova Scotia or New Brunswick, a valid driver’s license, and access to a reliable vehicle.
