Matrix is hiring Journeyman Scaffolders for a long-term project for our client in Norman Wells, NWT. There is a blended rate for the first 10 hours, $50.91, and OT for all hours worked past 10, $66.00. An incentive of 12% will be payable to active employees at two milestones throughout the project. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing and dismantling the scaffolds required onsite. Camp accommodations will be provided.The pay rate is $44/hr.Work Conditions

• Shift Rotation: 15/13.
• Working 11.5 hours per day.
• Camp accommodations are provided.
• Work will be primarily outdoors in various weather conditions.

Flights: Charter hub from Edmonton. Additional rotation allowances are available as per the below based on a primary residence.

• Non-local residents of the Northwest Territories - $900
• Alberta residents - $250
• British Columbia, Saskatchewan & Manitoba - $750
• Ontario, Quebec & the Yukon - $850
• New Brunswick, Nova Scotia & Prince Edward Island - $1100
• Newfoundland & Labrador - $1300

Key Responsibilities

• Utilizes site drawings and written instructions to select materials required to set ground levels for scaffolds.
• Installs steel pipes, support braces, and clamps to form bases for scaffolds.
• Lifts and positions sections of scaffolding and bolts pipes together to build scaffolding as per site requirements.
• Places planks over horizontal bars to create platforms.
• Monitors levels in scaffolding structures to ensure stability.
• Dismantles scaffolding at the completion of a job.
• Experience operating a Telehandler is preferred.
• May perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Registered Scaffold Journeyman mandatory
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an industrial construction setting.
• Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Excellent problem-solving skills are required.
• Good analytical ability and manual dexterity.
• Successful candidates are required to have a valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
• Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
• Must be willing to complete all required pre-access training identified at the time of hire.
