Golder has new opportunities for an Intermediate Fish Biologist to join our Biophysical team on a full-time basis based in Calgary, Edmonton, or Saskatoon.

An Overview Of Your Role Will Include
  • Leading field programs in aquatic ecology (e.g., fish and fish habitat data, collection of water quality/quantity, benthic invertebrates, etc.)
  • Working with multi-disciplinary teams and developing positive working relationships in a team environment
  • Participation in environmental impact assessments for various types of developments including power, mines, oil and gas facilities, and pipelines
  • Preparing quality written material on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Data interpretation and statistical analyses
  • Participation in Golder and client health and safety programs
  • Mentoring staff
  • Interacting with clients and representatives from regulatory agencies

You Will Have a Background In
  • University degree in Environmental Sciences with a minimum of an M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree with four years of experience, or a B.Sc, degree with six years of experience
  • Strong technical writing, analytical, communication, and project management skills
  • Experience designing and leading fish and fish habitat studies/assessments
  • Working knowledge of aquatic ecosystems and fish ecology within western and northern Canada
  • Strong outdoor skills, experience working in remote areas, and experience with operating boats and motors
