Your opportunity

Our Barrie office is looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join the Assurance & Accounting team and own the following responsibilities:

  • Efficiently prepare year-end engagements and tax returns for your clients in a variety of industries
  • Perform and assist on audit engagements, prepare working papers and financial statements per regulatory standards
  • Perform review engagements, compilation engagements, accounting and tax returns for clients in a variety of industries, prepare workng papers and financial statements per regulatory standards
  • Build positive working relationships with clients and effectively respond to request and suggestions
  • Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis
  • Follow up on review notes, confirmations received and outstanding issues to assist the Manager in the completion of the file
  • Gather management letter points for discussion with the Manager/Partner and review the prior years reported management points to determine their status

Your experience and education

  • You have ideally completed or are working towards your CPA designation.
  • You have 1-2 years of audit experience in the public accounting industry.
  • You enjoy working within the non-profit industry and are keen to develop further knowledge in this area.
  • You value teamwork, client service, and quality in detailed work.
  • You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • You have knowledge of accounting policies and assurance techniques
