What will you be doing?

• Act as a true consultant to Pythian’s customers becoming their trusted advisor, to ensure they are using the Google platform efficiently and effectively to meet their needs and to verify it is integrating well with their other tools and processes.
• Supporting sales representatives in the technical pre-sales process to demonstrate Google Workspace capabilities to prospective customers of all shapes and sizes from SMB to Enterprise by participating in conference calls, site visits (pandemic permitting), presentations, product demonstrations, technical objection handling and proposals.
• Leading technical pre-sales efforts to demonstrate Google Workspace and select ISVs to customers and scoping projects.
• Providing subject matter expertise in Google Workspace solutions and leading all technical aspects of post sales activities for transitioning from legacy messaging and collaboration solutions to Google.
• Providing subject matter expertise of Chrome and leading all technical aspects of pre and post-sales activities for Chrome Enterprise projects.
• Performing hands-on design, configuration and troubleshooting of Google Workspace deployments including successfully migrating data to Google, integrating customer Active Directory environments with Google, and educating customer technical resources.
• Interacting with customer technical and project resources in face-to-face and remote interactions.
• Leading technical workstreams of deployment planning workshops at customer locations and assisting with accurately scoping Google deployment projects.
• Utilizing 3rd party utilities to leverage Google APIs to script bulk changes of Workspace settings.
• Acting as the escalation point for technical support resources for advanced Workspace and Chrome issues.
• Adapting existing customer messaging and collaboration workflow/processes to the appropriate Google solution.
  

What do we need from you?

• While we realise you might not have everything on the list to be the successful candidate for the Google Workspace Engineer job you will likely have experience in similar roles. The position requires specialized knowledge and experience in performing the following:
• Thrive in a customer facing consulting and presales role.
• Experience deploying and administering Google Workspace in enterprise environments.
• Experience managing or administering Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft 365 in mission-critical business environments.
• Knowledge and experience configuring and administering Windows servers and services such as DNS, DHCP, IIS and Group Policies and advanced understanding of Microsoft Active Directory.
• Strong working knowledge of networking concepts (e.g. IP, firewalls, NAT, proxy, VLANs, VPN).
• Able to quickly adapt to technology and process changes while effectively managing concurrent projects and tasks with minimal oversight.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
• Ability to convey complex technical concepts and requirements in a concise and easy to understand manner.
• Ability to travel within the United States and Canada (in the future when safe to do so).
• Nice to haves;
• Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) Certification (Deployment Service Specialist or Professional Collaboration Engineer), Microsoft 365 Certifications or any equivalent certifications would be great.
• Experience with creating and managing virtual machines.
• A foundational understanding of and experience with Javascript, Python, or other programming languages.
