GENERAL MANAGER (Full Time) – Yorkton Crossing

Candidates are invited to apply for the Full TimeGeneral Manager position at Yorkton Crossing a retirement community, located inYorkton,SK. The General Manager will work in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to provide services to the residents and represent the Home in the community.

As a The General Manager your typical day will involve the following;

  • Administer, coordinate, and direct all activities of the residence, including the management of human, physical and financial resources ensuring effectiveness of operational activities.
  • Develop, implement, and update operational policies and procedures for all departments of the residence to ensure a high level of care for residents and an effective and satisfying operating environment for employees.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate financial, personnel and resident data. Complete financial analysis and related reports in a timely manner.
  • Develop long range plans for the residence in conjunction with the needs of the residents, the staff, as well as the area in which the residence is located and health care planning agencies.
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality care for residents and resident satisfaction.
  • Develop, maintain, and foster a positive community partnership with health and service providers to promote the Residence as a part of the community.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to the staff for the achievement of the residence’s objectives.
  • Manage residence in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Partner with community ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and/or policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations.
  • Promptly attend to any concerns of residents and/or family members in a satisfactory manor ensuring implementation of action plans and avoiding reoccurrences.
  • Be knowledgeable of and practise residence’s emergency fire and safety program
  • Perform all other job duties as assigned.
  • Refer and adhere to all policies and procedures as they are in effect.

To match our Qualifications, you will possess

  • Certificate in Health Care/Hospitality/Senior Living Organization and Management or equivalent knowledge with relevant experience.
  • Previous managerial experience in a retirement home or long-term care home setting is an asset.
  • Good Public Relations Skills- Demonstrated understanding of/empathy for the needs of seniors.
  • Ability to relate to all levels of staff, the residents, and their families with a high degree of patience, tolerance, and confidentiality.
  • Initiative, good judgement and leadership abilities, supervisory capabilities.
  • Good communication skills; both oral and written
  • Ability to develop and implement budgetary guidelines for all departments.
  • Working knowledge of the following legislation:
o Retirement Homes Act/Personal Care Home Act
o Residential Tenancies Act
o Employment Standards Act
o Labour Relations Act
o Occupational Health and Safety Act
o Workers’ Compensation Act
o Coroner’s Act
o Regulated Health Professions Act
