General Maintenance Worker/Shuttle Driver

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Transport guests safely to and from the airport and nearby amenities as needed.
• Transport employees safely to and from the hotel for shifts as advised.
• Be able to pick up/drop off cargo and other deliveries as required. (up to 50lbs lifting/carrying)
• Assist guests with loading/unloading luggage on/off the shuttle vehicle.
• Fill out the log report for each pickup/drop off.
• Report any mechanical concerns to the general manager.
• Help maintain the building exterior and "curb appeal" (e.g., snow removal, lawn care, painting, gardening).
• Carry out assigned duties from NCC through GM as part of the Preventive Maintenance/Guest issue Schedule achieving standards required by property and company policy.
• Be familiar with general property upkeep. For example, changing of lightbulbs, batteries, guest room deliveries, etc.
• Assist with set up/tear down/resetting/cleaning of banquet and catering spaces.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Completion of secondary school or equivalent.
• Special license may be required for transportation of guests and driving of the shuttle bus.
• Previous experience in a hotel and as a shuttle driver and janitor or maintenance person is an asset.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft office.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds is required.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Fluency in Inuktitut is a desirable asset. Priority will be given to Nunavut Land Claims Beneficiaries
• Must have the ability to communicate in English.

Salary: From $23.00 per hour
