The Lung Association of Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island is a charitable health organization dedicated to improving quality of life by preventing and managing lung disease through advocacy, patient services, education & research. With over 100 years of service to the community, we continue to directly help people who live with lung disease.

The Lung Association of NS and PEI is seeking a Fund Development Coordinator. As part of the fund development team, this position is responsible for activities focusing on the PEI region and working in collaboration with the NS and PEI teams. The Fund Development Coordinator contributes to strategies and activities and is responsible for executing and evaluating an integrated development plan. Strategies include major gifts, monthly giving programs, special events, third-party events, direct mail, sponsorships, planned giving, etc. The position assists with communications, contribute to the creation of the fund development strategy and delivers on strategic metrics.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides informed advice to the Leadership Team with respect to research and analysis that will assist them in forming decisions that advance the mandate of LANSPEI
  • Works jointly on planning, executing and evaluating an integrated development plan - major gifts, monthly planning, special events, third-party events, sponsorships, planned giving, etc.
  • Collaborates with the Fund Development Manager and other team members to deliver successful Direct Mail Campaigns
  • Contributes to the creation and distribution of donor communications and fundraising campaigns
  • Contributes to and supports the development and execution of signature fundraising events
  • Recruiting and registering participants through the online system, planning logistics, and coordinating on-site events
  • Develop and foster relationships with organizations, communities, donors, etc.
  • Monitors fundraising activities and consistency with the organization’s brand, practices and purpose

Other duties as a requirement

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Public Relations, Hospitality or related field of study and/or experience in the role
  • Two years of fundraising and fund development experience
  • Committed to providing excellent customer service internally with the team and externally with the various LANSPEI partners and stakeholders
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite and Google platforms
  • Database management would be an asset
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be an initiative-taker with the ability to work independently and also collaborate

Working conditions:

  • 37.5 hours Monday – Friday
  • Work location is Charlottetown, PEI, with hybrid office options
  • May require irregular hours (evenings, weekends)
  • Some travel
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle

LANSPEI intends to onboard the successful candidate for this position as soon as possible.

This position with the LANSPEI will provide a competitive salary ranging between $40,000 and $50,000 and enrolment in a group insurance plan.
