FP&A And Risk Analyst

Aston Carter’s client in the transportation industry is seeking an FP&A/Risk Analyst to join their team on a 6-month contract with the potential to extend or go perm based on fit and needs. It’ll be a mix of FP&A and a bit of risk (not a requirement) working beside with the Director of Finance.

• Leads the development of risk registers for the organization, to ensure the enterprise’s top risks are continuously monitored and reported on.
• Manages and maintains ERM tools and templates.
• Ensures consistent and compliant application of Enterprise Risk Management Program across all levels of the Enterprise, and identifies gaps and corrective actions as required. The interim risk role is more of a coordinator. What the client will need help with within the short term is: * having someone facilitate the completion of risk registers (these are Excel files on SharePoint)
• These get filled in by senior leadership across the enterprise according to pre-determined criteria (which is already set)
• Once those separate risk registers have been set up,
• Facilitate the consolidation of those separate registers into one single register – again, this is done by the senior leadership team, but the risk role wordsmiths the final product to make sure it’s coherent, and that nothing has been missed off from the earlier registers at the consolidation stage. This is where the business partnering with execs would happen. The overall process is already set up, and we just need someone to operate it (co-chair the sessions with the DoF, coordinate the completion of the registers by themselves) during a busy period.
  
  

If there is a CPA candidate, they have work spilling over in FP&A team too.

• Skills & Qualifications:*
• Bachelors in Commerce, Economics, Finance, or related
• Pursing CPA, CFA, CA or MBA
• Years of experience as an auditor, staff accountant from public practice or in risk
• Someone who is quick at picking things up quickly, independently, follow a checklist, analytical view like an
• Excellent communication - business/governance/talking to multiple stakeholders + execs, written communication
• Intermediate Excel with pivot tables, vlook-ups (administer normal excel user)
• Has experience working in a quick and moving environment
