About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Field Operations Supervisor, the Field Operator is responsible for the safe, compliant, and cost-effective operations of the Saskatchewan Gathering System (SGS) Midstream Operations. The role will work collaboratively with Control room personnel, midstream engineering staff, construction, service companies, third party shippers and maintenance personnel.
We are looking for a candidate who is a driven, forward thinking, results-oriented Operator looking for a new and exciting opportunity! This role requires frequent travel to various field sites.
This position is within our Husky Midstream General Partnership group (HMGP) and located in Lloydminster, SK

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and troubleshoot all area-specific equipment to optimize performance to meet production targets as per Company’s guidelines.
  • Perform condition monitoring including sampling and testing per area responsibilities. Complete area operations records. (e.g., volume balances, log sheets, work permits and hazard assessments)
  • Support operations performed maintenance activities aligned to the Company’s operating philosophy. Support on-site maintenance contractors by communicating Company’s requirements, policies and procedures, while leading by example
  • Provide notifications/reports of operational issues and provide effective solutions to mitigate impacts.
  • Ensure regulatory & Compliance inspections and checks are completed and uploaded in a timely manner. Enter notifications as required.
  • Work collaboratively with Lloyd Control Room Operations to maintain safe reliable operations.
  • Daily Operational rounds and facility checks.
  • Initiate notifications and follow up on work order completion to sustain operations utilizing SAP.
  • Ensure appropriate operating procedures are reviewed and adhered to. Complete reviews and provide feedback for revisions and/or creation of new procedures.
  • Complete and record Regulatory & Compliance inspections.
  • Participate in audits and inspections as required.
  • Develop and execute work plans,
  • Complete applicable training as per Company’s Competency and program (CAP-O).
  • Support HMGP damage prevention and right of way management programs.
  • Adhere and promote the Control of Work process in area of responsibility.
  • Provide point of contact for third party operators / shippers in the area of responsibility.
  • Develop and execute work plans for small and big work outages. (build the isolation, drain down, LOTO plans, and procedures).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrated self-motivation and willingness to accept increased operational responsibilities.
  • Provide assistance, coaching, on-the-job training and assessments to new employees as required,
  • Comply with all HS&E requirements in the performance of this Position’s responsibilities (ie recording and reporting of safety related items as well as maintain safety certifications)
Qualifications:
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent (post-secondary technical diploma or Journeyman certification or Power engineering are considered an asset)
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Midstream/Pipeline operations
  • Experience working with SAP or other CMMS systems.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Experience in equipment isolation, safe work permitting and hazard analysis.
  • Proficiency with computers is required (experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, SAP, and a field data capture system would be considered an asset).
  • Solid understanding of safety and regulatory standards and procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (experienced).
  • This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to the relevant requirements of the Cenovus Drug and Alcohol policy which includes pre-assignment testing.
